Fans Divided
Simon Zebo caught the eye while Conor Murray crossed over for yet another Munster try against Connacht.
As the scrum-half cruised towards the posts his fellow veteran teammate made an airplane gesture that rubbed salt in the wound for Connacht supporters.
That score made it 28-7 after 62 minutes of play in Saturday’s one-sided interpro at Thomond Park.
Plenty of viewers felt it was unnecessarily showy of the 34-year-old, particularly when playing against Irish opposition.
Dan commented: “Hardly a need for Zebo to go on like that.”
While Mairt agreed, adding: “Woeful disrespect by Zebo. Pretty sad stuff doing that at end of a game.”
However, others felt such criticism was overly sensitive of a player enjoying himself in the heat of the moment.
Mike sarcastically clapped back: “Awful to see a player enjoy a fantastic try.”
And James similarly came to his defence, stating: “He’s near the end of his career, talk of retirement this summer.
“He’s put his best mate through for a walk-in, the f**king nerve of him to be enjoying the moment.”
