ADAM IDAH has enjoyed a successful spell at Celtic since joining on loan from Norwich City in January.

The Ireland striker scored eight goals for the side with his latest being the opener in Celtic’s 5-0 title-securing win over Kilmarnock during the week.

The Scottish giants enjoyed their title celebrations this afternoon after finishing off the season with a 3-2 victory against St Mirren.

Celtic legend Chris Sutton had previously been unsure about Idah’s place in the side but when asked if he should be kept on Sutton seemed to have changed his tune.

He said: “I hope so. Look, a change in environment has really worked for him, his performance in midweek I said before the game against Kilmarnock was sensational.

“I still think there’s parts of his game which he needs to improve. All depends on what the fee will be, after the loan there wasn’t an agreed fee.

“If Celtic can get him for anything under 6, 7 million, I’d pay that.

“That’s the Celtic model now and we know that Brendan likes developing players and I think he would be an excellent fit.”

Neil Lennon shared the same views as the ex-Celtic star as he hailed the 23-year-old.

Lennon added: “Yeah I think he will develop more, I think there’s more to come from Adam.

“He’s got great attributes, we saw it all in its glory on Wednesday night, good with his back to goal.

“He’s quick when he gets going, I think his finishing is something he needs work on but it’s definitely improved as the season got on and he’s playing with better players which I think brings the best out of him.

“I think if he came here he’d definitely be an asset and certainly for European football he’s got all the attributes as well to play at that level.”

Lennon looks to be making moves of his own with Rapid Bucharest reportedly on the verge of completing a deal with the ex-Celtic boss.

Lennon held talks last week and it is understood negotiations are close to being finalised on a two-year contract worth £1.5million.

Barring any last-minute hitch, the 52-year-old will be announced following Sunday’s derby clash with rivals Steaua Bucharest.

Lennon has been out of work since being sacked by Cypriot club Omonia Nicosia 19 months ago.

He has been linked with a number of jobs since then and was interviewed by the FAI for the vacant Ireland position.

Nick Montgomery’s sacking at Easter Road this week put him in the frame for a potential return to Hibs.

But talks with Rapid Bucharest have reached an advanced stage, with an agreement close.
