At the end of last year, Gibson-Park had reason to celebrate off the pitch as he was presented with his Irish citizenship.

He was one of the 6000 people who received their citizenship at Dublin’s Convention Centre just before Christmas.

Three years prior to this, Gibson-Park got down on one knee on Christmas Day to propose to his long-time partner Patti.

Here, SunSport has look into the life of the Leinster and Ireland star:

How old is Jamison Gibson-Park and where is he from?

Gibson-Park was born on February 23 1992, meaning he just turned 32-years-old last month.

He was born on Great Barrier Island in New Zealand, where he spent the first ten years of his life.

The Leinster star then moved to Gisbourne where he attended school and began to play rugby.

How did Gibson-Park begin his career?

In his final year in school, Gibson-Park was named in the  New Zealand Secondary Schools squad.

He was picked up by the Taranaki Academy from this and he moved there in 2011.

In 2012, Gibson-Park trialled for the New Zealand Under 20s but he didn’t make the cut.

The star debuted for Taranaki in 2012 and continued to rise from there.

The following year he signed for Super League side the Blues where he stayed until 2015, then moved to the Hurricanes.

When did Gibson-Park move to Ireland?

In May of 2016, Gibson-Park left the Hurricanes to join Leinster who he has now made 132 appearances for.

He made his 100th Leinster appearance in the 2021 Pro14 final when he helped earn a 16-6 victory over Munster.

The scrum-half became eligible for Ireland in August 2019 and made his first cap during the 2020 Six Nations.

He has now made 33 caps for the country.

Who is Gibson-Park’s wife?

Gibson-Park is married to his long-time partner Patti who also hails from New Zealand.

After proposing on Christmas Day in 2020, the Ireland star tied the knot with Patti on July 22, 2022.

Their wedding took place at the Broadlands Lodge in Taupō in New Zealand.

The couple now have three children together, daughters Iris and Isabella and son Jai.
